Supporting Recovery

A workshop for the recovering addict, their family, and their support system.

This 14 hour, 1.5 day educational and experiential workshop is for all those wishing to understand the
complex aspects of chemical dependency, substance abuse and impulse control disorders.

The Supporting Recovery Workshop will improve the quality of relationships within the family unit and
provide the necessary tools for the accountability of the recovering addict.

If you have a family member that is a recovering alcoholic/addict, or if you are the recovering alcoholic/addict dealing with the family unit, this workshop is for you. It WILL improve your quality of life.

The workshop will include lecture, independent work, group work, and process group work.

Topics covered include:

• The science behind addiction and impulse control disorders
• Required changes in the addict’s interpersonal relationship with the family system
• Addiction and codependency management
• Accountability for relapse prevention
• Relapse action planning
• A healthy approach to battling addiction
• Healing relationships and releasing resentments
• Recovery program design and implementation planning

Movie Nights

Screening of films that are related to addiction and codependency for all those who are intrested in entertainment combined with education about the disease of addiction and the impact it has on the family system. The alcoholic/addict, sponsors, family members, clinicians and other interested parties should attend. These are open screenings with an educational process afterward and there is no cost for participation.
